He’s not listed on the press release and doesn’t feature in the shows list of participants, but it’s pretty obvious to anyone who has been following the coverage of the upcoming “Art in the Streets” show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA that Banksy will be a major contributor to the show.
MOCA director Jeffrey Deitch’s early pronouncements about Banksy’s involvement in the project last September to the LA Times “Banksy is very excited about the show” and elsewhere probably caused a flurry of phone calls asking Deitch to be be more circumspect about the artists involvement. It obviously worked – as there’s now no mention of Banksy in connection with the show which opens next week.
