Banksy’s latest street piece which appeared in London over the Easter bank holiday reworks an old anarchist slogan coined by Emma Goldman “If voting changed anything, they’d make it illegal.”
The piece seems to be a reference to a spate of recent arrests in LA of street artists such as Invader and Revok who are involved with the MOCA show. The little rat has been caught red handed.
Banksy’s representatives made the following statement regarding his installation at the ‘Art in the Streets’ exhibition at MOCA in LA:
“Banksy’s installation is an ongoing project. He claims this is so he can make new work in reaction to developments both inside and outside the museum over the next few months…”
That certainly seems to be the case with this piece.
