Here’s a first look at a new untitled original piece created by Banksy during his recent tour around North America where he created numerous street pieces. (Note: this piece was not removed from the street, it was created on a found roadsign).
The piece was donated by Banksy in order to help raise funds to restore a site specific sculptural installation called Defenestration created by Brian Goggin in San Francisco.

Some of the originals he created during his time in the US and Canada were given as gifts to people who helped out with the logistics of creating the street pieces – such as allowing access to the roof of a building. Other pieces were discreetly offered to collectors who have supported Banksy in the past.
The piece is included in the upcoming Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Auction on 15th October 2010 at Christies in London.
Banksy used the same bird and speech-bubble image as part of a piece he created in a car park wall in San Francisco earlier this year:
