Banksy film awards

Banksy’s film Exit Through the Gift Shop has already picked up a prestigious Grierson Award for most entertaining documentary, and been long-listed for an Oscar in the documentary feature section but it’s also up for two more awards in the US.

First up is the 2010 International Documentary Association awards in which the film is nominated in the Distinguished Feature Documentary category. Banksy fan Morgan Spurlock will host the award ceremony tomorrow night (3rd December) in Los Angeles. Morgan was at the world premiere of Banksy’s film at the Sundance Film Festival in January and later hosted a preview screening of the film in NYC in April, so I think it’s safe to assume he’ll be rooting for Exit Through the Gist Shop to win.

The film has also been nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in the Best Documentary category which will be announced next year on 26th February, one day before the Oscars.
